Is a directional change in the CPI a forward indicator of a directional change in the SP500?

SP500 rides the 50 month EMA. When you look at it from this perspective, it doesn’t look that bad. MACD looks as if it is turning higher. Could the recession talk continue to stay disconnected from the Equity markets?
